Kahit abala this time siguro sina Mark Herras at Jennylyn Mercado, talagang panonoorin nila ang I Luv NY pilot.

Si Jenny, nagpi-prepare pa rin para sa kanyang birthday concert na gagawin same night of the pilot of their show, this Monday na.

Noong una naming nakausap si Mark, about two days after they arrived from New York, hindi niya pa alam ang kaniyang magi-ging participation for the birthday concert ng kanyang ex and still love team although ang gusto niya pala, kumanta sana.

Mas nakilala si Jenny as the singer at si Mark nga naman as the dancer.

SOP’ TOASTS ‘I LOVE NY’

IN tomorrow’s SOP, there’s going to be a grand party welcoming back the members of the cast of I Luv NY who shot in the Big Apple 70 percent of the GMA 7 soap opera, which starts airing on Monday.

Also being welcomed • to the Kapuso family • is the grand champion of Pinoy Pop Superstar 2, who is marking his birthday in the Sunday noontime show: Gerald Santos.

Incidentally, a former Kapuso is making a comeback to her home studio, somebody with a velvety voice. Would you like to guess who? We don’t want to pre-empt the surprise. Find out in SOP tomorrow, Mother’s Day.

In Gigsters, Raymond and Richard Gutierrez hail ILNY star Jennylyn Mercado, who’s celebrating her birthday.

Jennylyn, biased sa talent ng Dos

Mark Herras & Jennylyn Mercado

Other guests include Janno Gibbs, Aiza Seguerra and Hale.

Jennylyn would also like to acknowledge the following sponsors: GMA Network, Converse, Particles, WL Foods, Starmall, Finds, Drs. Manny and Pie Calayan, Bambini, NP Kopi Tiam, GMA Records, GMA Artist Center, Gerry’s Grill, Renew, NMI Fanatxt, PCSO, Ultimate Media, Yes FM, Love Radio at marami pang iba.

No reconciliation between Mark & Jennylyn

WALANG balikang naganap kina Mark Herras at Jennylyn Mercado matapos silang mag-taping ng “I Luv NY” sa New York. They stayed there for almost a month at purely work lang ang namagitan between them, walang personalan.

Noong parehong nagkasakit sina Mark at Jennylyn, they took care of each other.

We’re friends. I’m not closing doors sa possibility na magkakabalikan kami," said Mark.

Nagpahayag naman si Jen na naka-move on na siya sa split-up nila ni Mark. "Naka-let go na ako," she said. Billed "Music in Me," sa Music Museum ito on May 15 at magde-dirty dancing silang dalawa. (Rowena Agilada)

Ito ang balik tambalan nina Jenny and Mark as well as Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin.

Kaya lang, Mark can still be seen with his other love team, si Pauleen Luna sa tenth season story My Darling Mermaid ng Love to Love every Sunday after SOP Gigsters.

This Sunday din, sa karelyebo naman ng Baul na Kakakaka-BOO, balik tambalan din sina Jenny and Jake sa Revenge of the Mummy episode na ikukuwento ni Chaka Doll with Benjie Paras playing the mummy.

Mga peryista sina Jenny and Jake dito na una ring pinagtambal sa isang Love to Love episode in its ninth season.

At least may alternative love team ang dalawa ‘no?

Who Luvs NY?

Article posted May 11, 2006

GMA Network’s newest primetime offering, I LUV NY, is set in the romantic city of New YorkThis is the first Philippine primetime TV soap to use a world-class location as its backdrop, around which revolves the story of the four main characters. Yes, in the city that never sleeps, love keeps pairs Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin, and Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras up and about.

The love story is shot in different landmarks in New York, where our major characters will meet, encounter adventures and misadventures, and eventually, fall in love.

Beginning May 15 viewers will be swept off their feet by this double-dose of romance, featuring the much-awaited reunion of their favorite screen pairs Jolina and Marvin, as well as StarStruck’s most talked about couple Jennylyn and Mark.

The romantic tale begins with Baste’s (Mark Herras) dreams of earning enough money to go to the United States to look for his long-lost mother. Rumor has it she resides in California. By a stroke of luck, he is picked as a contestant on Laban O Bawi, and chances upon a way of fulfilling his dreams. However, instead of landing in California, he finds himself in New York. Life then takes an even more interesting turn when he meets Natalie (Jennylyn Mercado).

In New York, Natalie runs away from home because her parents insist on marrying her off to a young man she doesn’t know. It isn’t that they don’t love her. Her family’s failing business needs this marriage if they are going to stay afloat. But Natalie refuses to be a sacrificial lamb.
And then there’s Albert, Natalie’s close cousin. Due to his spate of love problems, Albert often takes his anger out on his employees. Fed up with his behavior, his receptionist resigns. This is where Polly (Jolina Magdangal) comes in, for as soon as she reads in the papers about the opening for a receptionist in the apartment, she immediately applies for the job. Unknown to Polly, her would-be boss is her exact opposite for just as Polly’s life is topsy-turvy, the neat-freak Albert’s is completely organized!

Joining I LUV NY’s two pairs of love birds are William Martinez and Yayo Aguila as Joaquin and Susan, Baste’s parents; Caridad Sanchez as Lola Juliana, Baste’s grandmother; Tirso Cruz III and Carmi Martin as Edward and Diane, Natalie’s parents; Gabby Eigenmann and Krizzy Jareño as Paul and Shayne, Natalie’s siblings; Isabel Oli as Wendy, Polly’s rival for Albert’s heart; Alfred Vargas as Seb or Sebastian Santos, Baste’s namesake and the young man set to marry Natalie; Mike Tan as Jero, the bellboy who is Baste’s confidante in New York; LJ Reyes as Ponyang, Baste’s tomboyish best friend in the Philippines; Kirby de Jesus as Sunshine, Natalie’s gay best friend; and Neil Ferreira as Billy, Natalie’s persistent suitor.

Witness how the paths of four completely different and colorful individuals cross and change its course, as they begin a romantic and unforgettable journey in the greatest city in the world. Feel the romance in I Luv NY from Monday to Friday beginning May 15 on GMA’s primetime block.

Kumbaga, sweet talaga kami.

Parang ayokong madaliin. Gusto ko step by step…"

Ganu’n ba ‘yun, Ian F.?

Sa sobrang lamig sa NY, Jennylyn at Mark nagpainit sa kama?

by : Dennis Aguilar
People's Taliba

Dahil unang-una, mapapanood dito ang balik-tambalan nina Jolina at Marvin at siyempre with Mark and me.

Samantala, bukod kina Jennylyn, Mark, Jolina at Marvin, naka-cast din sa I Luv NY sina Caridad Sanchez, Tirso Cruz III, Carmi Martin, Gabby Eigenman, LJ Reyes, Krizz Jareno, Isabel Oli, Alfred Vargas, Mike Tan at Kirby de Jesus, directed by Louie Ignacio.

Ngayon ay desidido ang dalawa na maging magkasundo for the sake of their show.

Para raw maging positive ang dating.

"Hindi naman kasi maiiwasan na during those times, eh may samaan kami ng loob ni Mark. Nagkaroon kami ng problema kaya as much as possible, ayaw muna naming magkasama kasi hindi maganda lalabas.

Kaya nag-usap kami and we’re friends na.

"In fairness naman, pati ako may diperensya.

I’m emotionally stable.

As in, ayoko nang makipag-boyfriend ever."

Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!

"Ay hindi naman ganu’n, ‘no! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!

"That was during Starstruck pa namin nina Mark.

Wala na akong nararamdaman for him.

Music in Me

Article posted May 09, 2006

This May 15, StarStruck Survivor Jennylyn Mercado celebrates her birthday with a very special concert. Called 'Music in Me', the concert is unlike any other that she has been part of because birthday girl Jennylyn produced it herself, as a gift to that she can share with everyone else. It will be held at the Music Museum in Greenhills.

Jennylyn says that she decided to call the concert Music in Me because, 'music is inside me. It's my first love.'

The audience will also be sure to enjoy music from Hale, one of the most popular bands today. Janno Gibbs will be singing 'Moments of Love' with the birthday girl. And Aiza and Jen have been working together since Jen's StarStruck days, where they were paired to do an acoustic number so we're sure that their special number will be one to look out for as well.

And what kind of concert would it be without Mark Herras on the guest list? Jennylyn and Mark will be dirty dancing for the very first time, ever. 'As in very dirty!' Jen laughs. 'Kailangan manood kayo para malaman niyo how very dirty but it is.' One thing s for sure: Jennylyn-Mark fans won t be disappointed!

Also appearing is a very special surprise guest. Jennylyn is keeping mum about this person's identity, but she promises, 'pampakilig din siya.'

Fans will also be glad to see that Jennylyn is maturing. She's slowly shedding her teenybopper penchant for pink clothes and bubblegum pop. Instead, this Kapuso princess has been opting for more classic earth toned outfits and leaning towards rock in her music. Concert goers will be among the first to witness Jen's transformation from teen to young lady.

And since a birthday isn't complete without gifts, Jennylyn is giving gifts to some of the most important people in her life her fans. 'I have lots of gifts and give-aways for my fans, friends and lucky patrons. No one will go home without bringing something,' she says.

Aside from the concert goers, she's giving something to her favorite charity too. Part of the concert's proceeds will be going to the Bata Foundation.

For all her planning and seeming self-assurance, Jen admits to being a wee bit nervous about this upcoming birthday concert.

Tickets are available at Music Musuem, all National Bookstore outlets, Robinsons Galleria and Starmall Edsa.

Special thanks to North Park Kopi Tiam. For inquiries, call 7227946/ 7227948 or visit #3 Benitez St., Brgy Horeshoe Village, Q.C.

‘I Luv NY’ worth its big budget

I LUV NY — the romantic series starring Jolina Magdangal, Marvin Agustin, Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras — awed me at its presscon last Monday.

Director Louie Ignacio is very happy at the impressive results of a new camera that is being used for the first time ever in a teleseries. He captured the landmarks of New York without making the story appear like a documentary of sorts.
The cast and crew succeeded in completing the principal photography of the series as per schedule because they got a permit from New York City officials — hence, there was no need to go tago nang tago from authorities while they were taping, like local producers and stars used to do in the old days. They managed to catch the beauty and vibrancy of the city that never sleeps.

So far, in my book — and based on what I’ve seen of this ambitious project which is dedicated to the young and the young at heart — I Luv NY is worth its big budget.

And worth following on GMA 7 starting Monday

Go album from GMA Records.

Jennylyn bats for battered kids

FUNFARE By Ricardo F. Lo
The Philippine Star 05/09/2006

Because she was a battered child (whose black and blue face was featured on the front page of a tabloid several years ago), Jennylyn Mercado has a soft spot for victims of child abuse.

"I’ve been through it and I know the trauma that they are going through," Jennylyn told Funfare a few days after she and loveteam-mate (and former boyfriend) Mark Herras came back from New York where they (with Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin) did a three-week shoot for the GMA teleseries I Luv NY.

"Up to now," added Jennylyn who is producing the concert, "I don’t think I have totally overcome the trauma."

So it’s but fitting for Jennylyn to donate the proceeds of her 19th birthday concert entitled Jen: Music In Me slated for Monday, May 15, 8 p.m. at the Music Museum, to the Bata Foundation (in Cavite) which takes care of, among others, battered children. (I Luv NY also starts telecast on the same date. On May 27, Jennylyn will open her own boutique, Jennylyn’s Dresses, at the StarMall on EDSA-Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.)

"This concert will show the side of Jennylyn that many people don’t really know about," said Becky Aguila, Jennylyn’s manager. "I mean, the singer in Jennylyn. People must have overlooked the fact that before she joined StarStruck (batch one), she was a singer. This concert has been postponed four times."

Besides Mark Herras, the guest list includes Janno Gibbs, Hale and Aiza Seguerra, plus newcomers Ava and Miguel Aguila.

Asked if it’s true that she and Mark reconciled in New York, Jennylyn said no, even if they were often seen holding hands in-between takes.

"It was cold in New York," said Jennylyn, "at walang kahulugan yung pagho-holding hands namin ni Mark. He was even putting his arm around my shoulders to make me feel warm. It was just a friendly gesture na hindi dapat bigyan ng malisya."

Asked what song she’d like Mark to sing for her at the concert, Jennylyn said, "For You. That’s what we always sing together."

(Note: Jennylyn’s concert is sponsored by GMA 7, GMA Artist Center, GMA Records, Becky Aguila Entertainment & Marketing Services, Bambini, Particles, Muncher Corn Bits, Converse, StarMall, Calayan, 90.7 Love Radio, Faremo, Fanatxt, Gerry’s Grill, Kopi Tiam, PCSO, Placenta, J&G Entertainment & Studios, Finds Superstore and YES! FM 101.1. Tickets priced at P1,200, P1,000 and P500 are available at Music Museum, Ticketworld outlets with telephone number 891-9999, EDSA StarMall and National Bookstores.)

Jennylyn, Mark gumigimik para sa bagong soap

DREAM
by : Ed De Leon

Skirts and dresses, pauusuhin ni Jennylyn!

May 15 is also an all-important date for Jennylyn Mercado who marks her 19th birthday. In early April, Jennylyn with Mark Herras, Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal went all the way to New York to do three-week taping for I Luv NY soap.

Now, I Luv NY is set to hit GMA 7 on primetime on May 15, about the same time ABS-CBN initially airs its Bituing Walang Ningning starring Sarah Geronimo and Angelika dela Cruz with Zsa Zsa Padilla and Ai Ai delas Alas.

Moreover, Jennylyn too has set her birthday concert, Music in Me, at the Music Museum with special guests Janno Gibbs, Aiza Seguerra, Mark Herras, the Hale Band and a special surprise guest artist. Ava and Miguel Aguila do the front act.

Mark Herras who doesn’t sing will do some "dirty dancing" with Jennylyn as added attraction. GMA 7, the Calayans, Bambini, Particles, Starmall are helping out.

Music in Me is Jennylyn’s first major concert and at 19, she is producing it too with talent manager Becky Aguila helping her put up her show.

May poses as a busier month to Jennylyn who is also looking forward to opening her own boutique later this month.

The Jen’s Boutique will have its opening on May 27 at the Finds Departments Store at Starmall EDSA.

The boutique will carry Jen’s designs and fashion, dresses as well as skirts and blouses plus accessories. "It’s time for skirts and dresses too, hindi lang pantalon for girls," she points out.

And since her May is full, her second music album launch has been moved to June. In fact, Jen is quite excited about her songs, especially Panaginip which Vehnee Saturno composed for her. And the upbeat song, No Way, with touches of yodel.

Jennylyn Mercado gets down and dirty in ‘Music in Me’

By WALDEN SADIRI
Manila Bulletin

It will be a new Jennylyn Mercado that her fans will see in her birthday concert entitled "Music in Me" this May 15 at the Music Museum. This is truly another milestone in her life, and she is said on manifest her total musicality and passion for singing in her carefully prepared repertoire.

Moreover, according to her manager Becky Aguila (?) she will explode on stage with her sensual yet very energetic "dirty dancing" numbers with love team partner Mark Herras. Her opening act, the manager hinted, is inspired by J.Lo’s music videos and shows.

She might even go on the stage riding a motorcycle, while she’s clad in a sexy biker outfit. It would also be a sultrier and more mature Jennylyn Mercado that would face her audience in the said show.

En route to adulthood, Jennylyn’s concert is expected to share with the audience her longtime passion in music which took a backseat in favor of her acting career. It could be remembered that Jennylyn, before winning the first season of "Starstruck," dabbled in lounge singing in venues like in Bobby Velasco’s Café de Malate.

She has recorded her own album but despite this feat, she hopes to catapult herself into a more serious singer and performer in "Music in Me." Her manager added that she’s positive Jennylyn’s fans would be as supportive to her singing career as in her acting.

"Music in Me" is a showcase of her experiences and maturity in showbiz through her music. It is also a celebration of many things - movie box-office hits, high rating shows, etcetera. This is why this milestone event will be shared by her friends in showbiz on stage. Her special guests are Janno Gibbs, Mark Herras, Aiza Seguerra, Hale and a surprise artist said to be from the rival network.

Up to now, Jennylyn Mercado is still overwhelmed with the blessings she has been receiving from the Almighty. One of them is her fashion botique which is located in Finds of Star Mall in Mandaluyong named after her.

Known for having long and flawless legs, Jennylyn’s shop is geared to selling skirts, mini or even micro, like what she is fond of wearing. Her goal is to hopefully set the trend of women wearing more skirts than pants.

Another blessing is "I Love New York," a light romantic comedy TV series shot mostly in the Big Apple. Airing of the series is also set on May 15, and in the show she is joined by Mark Herras and the still popular tandem of Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal.

"Music in Me" is Jennylyn’s first venture as a producer. And for her fans and patrons, she has prepared special giveaways to be handed out on the night of her concert!

So be there at the Music Museum on May 15.

Jennylyn Mercado, sexy at daring sa "Music In Me"

"As you all know, Jennylyn has a pair of beautiful legs. So, you’ll expect some of Jennylyn’s passion for skirts and mini-skirts in her boutique na pang-teenager.
