As featured on ABS-CBN Channel 2 on Saturday night, Jennylyn Mercado was the guest of Luis Manzano on “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal“, a week after his mother, Batangas governor and veteran actress Ms. Vilma Santos appeared on the show.

On the first part of the show, the 24-year old GMA-7 actress, who came along on the show with her mother, danced with the 24 gorgeous ladies on the modeling and dance routine, but lost early her chance to win the P1-million prize.

Mercado, whose first offer from ‘Banker’ was P26,700, also lost her chance to win the grand prize of P2 million and P500,000 as well; and sang some lines of “So Amazing” which the couple revealed as their theme song.

Meanwhile, Manzano, who turned 31 last April 21, helped Mercado in revealing to the audience how they met and why they call each other “Mats”; and frequently kissed her on the cheek which he said as luck to win.

On the last part of the show, Briefcase #s 7 and 16 were the only ones left and Banker’s last offer to Jennylyn Mercado was P5,000; and the actress still took the chance of ‘no-deal’, who chose Briefcase # 7 and won P100 only instead of P10,000.

After Gov. Vilma Santos, another special girl in Luis Manzano’s life will try to make a good deal with the Banker. The second part of the host-actor’s birthday celebration continues this Saturday (April 28) in the ABS-CBN game show, Kapamilya Deal or No Deal.

GMA-7 actress Jennylyn Mercado appears on the Kapamilya Network for the very first time just for Luis. She went through the tension of picking the right briefcases in hopes of winning the P2 million jackpot.

Luis expressed how happy he was that Jennylyn was allowed to appear on ABS-CBN. He said, “I am really very thankful to her for making my birthday celebration extra special.”

Will Luis side with Jennylyn or the Banker? Will Jennylyn be "lucky" with Luis right beside her?

Kapamilya Deal or No Deal airs this Saturday (April 28) after TV Patrol Weekend on ABS-CBN.

I Salute Jennilyn Mercado

Posted on April 26, 2012 by Nicquee

When we were at Las Pinas, I had a grand time watching local channels because 1) they do not have cable there and 2) we sleep in the sala area.

We were channel hopping and I found that aside from Channel 2, I can tolerate shows from Channel 11 (sister channel of GMA 7). We watched the Follow That Star episode featuring Jennilyn Mercado.

I really think that this person can sing and act. She is honest enough to admit that she cannot dance. I cannot say anything about that because I do not watch GMA 7 shows. But she enrolled herself to dance lessons to learn and that shows her want to be a better artist.

What caught my attention the most is when I found out how sporty she is. You see, I have high regards to sporty moms. She runs, bikes, swims, and even dives! She does duathlon and triathlon! And she is a celebrity. She surely does not need science to keep her body in shape, just Gluta-IV to keep her skin fair from all her sun exposure.

I think she is pretty and is a good actress. But I feel that she can be more than what she is now with regards to her acting career. She has a pretty face and body that even when she does not put on make up and dress up much, she will still be noticed. Her being fit and sporty is really inspiring.

Patrick Denies Having Dumped Jennylyn, Saves Up For Son
April 24, 2012, 2:16pm

MANILA, Philippines— Patrick Garcia has finally opened up on one of his life’s dramatic episodes – his relationship with singer-actress Jennylyn Mercado. The former couple has a son, three-year-old Alex Jazz.

“[Jennylyn] was very maalagain and she was very sweet to me,” Patrick recalls of Jennylyn in an interview with “Showbiz Inside Report” recently. The kapuso star is currently dating Luis Manzano.

Since news of Jennylyn’s pregnancy surfaced at the time, Patrick was accused to have left the relationship. Adding controversy to the breakup was Patrick’s refusal to take responsibility of the baby.

“[When she got pregnant,] it was very magulo, that’s why I had to leave the country for a while. I didn’t get scared, no. Kumbaga ma-barkada pa ako noon eh. I wasn’t ready,” Patrick explained.

“But I never left her. Although she said I did, no, I did not,” he added.

The returning kapamilya actor shared the feeling when he first met his son.

“I didn’t know how a father was supposed to feel. I didn’t know how. I was happy, and yet, ‘What do I do?’ But it came to me naman what my role is supposed to be for him,” Patrick said.

Years after estrangement, Patrick and Jennylyn have become civil with each other and now share parental duties to their son. A proud father, Patrick claims Alex Jazz is more like him than his mother.

When I met him, I always wanted myself to be there for him. It felt good. Everything about me, [namana niya] – how he sleeps, lahat namana sa’kin. Wala namana kay Jen,” he said in jest.

According to Patrick, being a father to his son made him become less selfish. In fact, the “Lumayo Ka Man Sa Akin” actor said that he has been saving up for Alex Jazz’s future.

“I’m more concerned about his future. Before, I used to spend for myself and what I want. Now kailangan magtabi for him, for his future... It doesn’t make you selfish. It makes you think of another being aside from yourself. Because I love my son, it’s effortless to just give for him,” he said.

Written by Chan Chan Torres
Monday, 23 April 2012 05:51

MAY isyu ba kina Rufa Mae Quinto at Jennylyn Mercado?

Part 1. Luis Manzano denies visiting a church in Batangas to book his wedding with Jennylyn Mercado: "Kagulat-gulat talaga!"

WEDDING IN BATANGAS?

“Wala. Actually, nabasa ko nga ‘yon. Sabi ko, ‘Sino ‘yon?’

“Kung kamukha ko man siya, ang suwerteng nilalang no’n!” pabiro pang nasabi niya.

“Wala kahit anong katotohanan behind it. Nothing at all talaga.

“Ni hindi ko ma-explain. Kahit ako, gusto kong malaman ang pinanggalingan no’n. I’m curious.

“Kung may mahanap din kayong kasagutan, please let me know."

There’s nothing behind it.

“So, ewan ko...

So, weird lang.

“Kahit ako, gusto kong malaman ang pinanggalingan no’n. I’m curious.

“Kung may mahanap din kayong kasagutan, please let me know," saad ni Luis.

FOR HIS CONSIDERATION.

"Batangas is very close to my family.

“Pero long long way to go. Hindi pa talaga.”

IS SHE THE ONE?

“Well, in any relationship naman, you’re hoping na it’s the end product. Uhm… pero long way to go.”

“I have no idea. I wish I knew," sagot niya.

“Sa amin naman, in any relationship, you work on it for keeps.

“Pero long way to go pa nga. Very, very long way.”

They’re still enjoying each other’s company as of now, according to Luis.

“Yes. Not just the relationship, we’re enjoying everything na life is drawing my way.”

“At the same time, merong mga sobrang tagal bago magkatuluyan.

“Not yet," pagtanggi ni Luis.

“At the same time, inirerespeto ko ‘yong kailangang gawin ni Jen.

"Hindi lang bilang isang anak. Higit sa lahat, bilang isang ina.”

ALL'S WELL!

“We’re very happy naman sa feedback sa show.

Part 2. Luis Manzano on having his first lady before running for mayor: "Kung ang President nga, wala pang first lady, e!”

He is 31 years old.

“Yes. Siya ang guest namin next week.

“Birthday special ko itong magkasunod na episode for two weeks," banggit ni Luis sa panayam sa kanya ng (Philippine Entertainment Portal).

Kumusta ang pagge-guest ni Jennylyn, na isang Kapuso actress, for the first time sa isang Kapamilya show?

Ayoko naming i-preempt.

“Oo. In fact, since birthday ko nga kahapon [April 21]… four days ago ay nasa Batangas kami.”

GIFTS FROM JEN AND ATE VI.

May masasabi pa ba siyang birthday wish?

“No. But I’m more thankful instead of wishing.

“Tapos, a… I’m taking it easy muna.

“Same team naman ‘yong Kapamilya Deal Or No Deal at saka Pilipinas Got Talent.

“So by the time na magsimula ang Pilipinas Got Talent, tatapusin na namin ang Deal Or No Deal.

“'Tapos after PGT [Pilipinas Got Talent], saka naman ulit babalik ang Kapamilya Deal Or No Deal.”

MAYOR LUIS?

"Ako naman, never namang nag-announce.

“And siguro, if I believe, if I wake up one day na wanting to do it, she’s gonna be the first one na kakausapin ako.”

HIS FIRST LADY?

“Eto pa ba namang pagiging mayor, di ba?”

It's a deal: Jennylyn Mercado to guest on Luis Manzano's show, and vice versa

23-Apr-12, 11:39 AM | Sirri Shayla,

Apparently, it's a network deal. On April 28, GMA talent Jennylyn Mercado will appear as a special guest on "Deal or No Deal," the ABS-CBN game show hosted by her boyfriend, Luis Manzano.

In return, the Kapamilya hunk is expected to cross over as a guest on Jennylyn's talk show on GMA, "Showbiz Central."

The Kapuso actress clarifies that she obtained a one-time pass for her "Deal or No Deal" only as a part of the show's birthday treat for Luis, who turned a year older last April 21.

The two-part birthday special has already been taped, with Luis' mother, Batangas governor Vilma Santos-Recto, kicking off the proceedings.

"Naunang ipinalabas last Saturday (April 21) 'yung kay Tita Vi.

Both shows were taped on the same day.

"We were both in the studio noong tine-tape 'yung show.

Needless to say, Jennylyn had a blast doing the show with Luis, her boyfriend of one year. But she admits getting unnerved by the idea that his mom was watching them in the studio.

Thankfully, Luis was always ready with a wisecrack or three: "Si Luis kasi, mahilig magbiro kaya natatawa ako.

But the truth is Jennylyn has nothing to worry about. The Star for All Seasons likes her son's girlfriend just the way she is.

Basta nandiyan naman si Tita Vi, I try to be myself talaga," she says.

And based on those interviews, what matters the most to her Tita Vi is that Jennylyn makes Luis happy.

She thinks the compatibility also applies to their respective careers.

Working for different networks has allowed them to maintain their identities as individuals.

But of course, when the idea to guest on each other's shows came up, Jennylyn knew it was a deal she couldn't pass up. Now that she has fulfilled her end of the bargain, when will Luis live up to his?

"May pinag-usapan naman na kami and with our managers.

All indications point to the prospect of Luis popping in as a "surprise guest" when Jennylyn celebrates her birthday on the show next month, but her handlers are keeping the details under wraps.

For sure

na isang exciting na araw ito for both of us."

As far as his lovelife is concerned, Luis admits he has, so far, nothing to ask for. He had found in girlfriend, Jennylyn Mercado, an ideal match.

They both love sports, especially surfing. Weekly, they make it a point to surf in one of the beaches in Batangas.

Luis’ mom, Vilma Santos-Recto, we all know, is the current Batangas governor.

Luis is turning 32 on his birthday this Saturday, April 21.

Isn’t that the age ideal for marriage na? Luis was asked.

Yes, he knows, he replied, and added that he and Jennylyn do discuss it once in a while. Although not seriously yet. For, as of the moment, Luis explained, Jennylyn still wants a lot to accomplish.

And Luis obviously is willing to wait.
